“I’ve always wanted to be an entrepreneur, but I’ve never had an idea that I was passionate about until we founded Stories of Austin. Rashu and I are both participating in the WEL Institute’s Women In Entrepreneurship class this semester and it’s been an amazing opportunity for us. We were able to pitch Stories of Austin to work on with three other people in a five-week sprint, and this is the exact inspiration boost that we needed. I couldn’t be more grateful to all of our mentors both at UT and in the WEL Institute that have helped guide the direction of Stories of Austin.”

About Stories of Austin
Stories of Austin is a storytelling platform on Instagram and Facebook that shares the journeys of small business owners and entrepreneurs in Austin, Texas. We believe that connections are best made when people can empathize and relate with one another, and there’s no better way to do that than through storytelling.
We are constantly in awe of the creativity, perseverance, and passion that is required to build a business, and we hope to share these inspiring stories with the rest of the Austin community. The ultimate goal for Stories of Austin is to encourage our Austin community to make shopping local a regular part of their routine.
Due to COVID-19, we have seen many of our favorite establishments that have been long-time icons in the Austin community shutting down. It is clear that now more than ever that if we want to preserve the amazing entrepreneurial culture that Austin is renowned for, small businesses need our support. Stories of Austin aims to bridge this gap between small business owners and the Austin community.
