I’ve always been driven by empathy and curiosity. After seeing loved ones struggle with pain that couldn’t be measured or validated, I realized how often healthcare fails those who suffer invisibly. That personal connection inspired me to turn my passion for neuroscience into something tangible—a way to help people be seen and heard through data.
My proudest moment was being recognized as a finalist at the Hacking Pain Hackathon—while still a freshman undergraduate—with an idea that could truly shift how medicine understands pain. Seeing physicians’ excitement and disbelief at my age reminded me that innovation has no hierarchy, and that conviction and purpose can carry an idea far beyond expectations.
How Did You Come Up With The Idea For Your Business?
The concept for SynapSense was born at the Hacking Pain Hackathon, where I realized I could apply my neuroscience background to reimagine how chronic pain is measured. Combining that realization with my EEG research experience at Longhorn Neurotech and the support of my co-founders, I began developing what became SynapSense Technologies.
