Our group decided to explore entrepreneurship because we had all noticed our over-consumption of non-eco friendly products. All of us are passionate about fashion, each of us exploring it in our own ways. Upon researching the fashion industry, we found it was very difficult to pursue such a hobby while also trying to minimize our waste production. We are all environmental engineering majors, so all of us reached a common point in our careers where we have decided to try to help save the world before it’s too late. That, mixed with our love of fashion, has led us to entrepreneurship. It is a way to combine to of our greatest loves and also help others reach the same compromise of exploring fashion and minimizing waste that we have.
About the Company
To battle the waste accumulation in landfills by sunglass disposal, we created a closed loop business model subscription system where the customer subscribes to a plan and receives at least one pair of sunglasses every 2 months, exchanging them for a new pair each time the subscription is renewed. And at the end of the 2 months period, the customer’s used pair is then sent back to us, where we clean and make repairs if needed before shipping the pair to the next customer. This way, our story becomes a looped cycle of sustainability, without excess production of waste or consumption.
